Money is never the object…
They're in position at the casino table. He's going to be the honeypot, she's going to do the talking. And with that, they manage the security card and hand it off to a waitress. The waitress heads to the bathroom and changes into something a little stealthier to let her into the air vent that they found in the blueprints.
"Start the distraction now," the former waitress says in her head set.
The two outside begin having an argument. The man flips a table and security is called on him. During the noise, the waitress bangs hard on the vents and enters making her way to the private elevator shaft and climbing. She reaches a room of wires.
The man was taken for questioning. He's tied to a chair while the mark is asking him questions. He laughs and says they already have everything. A door opens and the woman he argued with shows up with a gun in hand and points at the Mark, saying its time for them to go.
Upstairs, the former waitress has made it to the safe and obtained the object they were looking for. Another signal on her comm and the window shatters, a helicopter waiting for her. The pilot gives a thumbs up. the three escape on different paths, each having their own chase, but for now, the Heist is done and the money is theirs.
The Heist. The Caper. The Job.
All these words mean one thing, getting a group of talented people together to steal something in the most awesome way possible.
That's why we watch Oceans 11, The Italian Job, Lupin III, and all the other movies where the thieves are the main characters. We all want to be part of the big con, the amazing burglary, or the last job to set yourself up as millionaires.
Unfortunately, we all can't do that in real life, but we can pretend to be on paper.
Partners-n-Crime is a tabletop RPG borrowing from the much loved Powered by the Apocalypse engine. In it, players become one of 7 members of a Crew to take on the world and steal anything they can get their hands on. But they must watch out for the cleverly built locations that the Master of Chumps (MC, GM, or DM to others) and the guards, police inspectors, and mafia bosses he puts in their way.
